Quoted by the Stoke Sentinel, Stoke City striker Lee Gregory revealed how he was a tad nervous heading into his new club after signing from Millwall.

The striker had been the Lions’ best player for the last couple of years but after them struggling to put any sort of form together last season, he probably felt it was time to move.

Nathan Jones, then, decided that he liked what he had seen from the forward and has taken him on – with him proving to be one of several arrivals this window at the Potteries.

The ambition, too, is to get the club back into the Premier League at the end of this campaign and Gregory has revealed the initial nerves he had when arriving – though they have subsided a bit now.

He said:

“You’re always nervous to come into a new club.

“But the lads have made me welcome and I’m glad to get in.”

It’s no surprise to get nervous when joining a new club. Jones believes in Gregory, though, and will hope to get things started competitively as soon as possible now.
