There are a number of young players who have caught the eye recently, but who are the most exciting prospects in world football?

Here at Rush Football we’ve decided to take a closer look at three young players with the potential to be world class – watch this space…

Kylian Mbappé – Monaco

At just 18 years of age, Kylian Mbappé is already a wanted man by Europe’s leading clubs. After becoming Monaco’s youngest ever player when he made his debut just shy of his 17th birthday, he has developed and gone on to become a key figure in their quest for both domestic and European success. In the most recent campaign, Mbappé featured in 44 competitive games for Monaco, scoring 26 times (including six in the Champions League) and assisting a further eight goals. He also made his France debut in late March away to Luxembourg and has drawn praise from, and been likened to, footballing legend Thierry Henry. Whatever the future holds for Mbappé, it is certain to be a bright one.

Adrien Rabiot – Paris Saint-Germain

Having already made 157 first team appearances for PSG, it is hard to believe that Adrien Rabiot is just 22 years old. After joining PSG in 2010, Rabiot’s consistently impressive performances have led to praise from legends such as Xavi and Zinedine Zidane, who described Rabiot as “exceptional” and a “complete player”. Despite his young age, he has already acquired an extensive and illustrious trophy cabinet which currently includes four Ligue 1 winners’ medals, three Coupe de France winners’ medals and also four Coupe de la Ligue winners’ medals. Should Rabiot continue to produce these outstanding performances for PSG, it will only be a matter of time before he breaks into the French side on a regular basis, and in the process will become a world class midfielder.

Kasper Dolberg – Ajax

Virtually unknown prior to the beginning of the 2016/17 season, Ajax frontman Kasper Dolberg has leapt onto the scene in style. After joining from Danish side Silkeborg IF in May 2015, Dolberg patiently bided his time and was rewarded in July of the following year, when he made his competitive debut, scoring in the 1-1 draw with PAOK in the Champions League qualifiers. Since making his debut, he has gone on to become a wanted man across Europe due to his electrifying pace and clinical finishing. At the end of his debut season, the 19 year old’s stats were phenomenal to say the least, finishing with 23 goals in 47 competitive games for Ajax. Despite it being early doors in the transfer window, there is already reported interest from both Manchester clubs and also Everton. Whatever the young Danes next move, he will certainly be a one to watch for the future.
