Spanish international manager Luis Enrique has played down fitness concerns over Spurs defender Sergio Reguilon after he looked to have picked up a knock in their recent friendly with neighbours Portugal.

The international break is well underway and top level managers around the continent will be hiding behind sofas and turning off of phones for fear of receiving injury news in this most congested season.

Reguilon was a concern for Spurs, then, after coming off at half-time last night in the 0-0 friendly between the two Iberian sides, though that seems as though it was precautionary more than anything else.

Former Barcelona boss Enrique revealed, as quoted by the Evening Standard:

“It’s not anything serious. It’s a knock which the doctors will have to look at. I hope it doesn’t get too complicated.”

A minor issue, then, and Spurs will just hope he comes back fully fit after an impressive start to life at the club.

He’s an energetic force up and down the flanks and certainly has shown that in his first few games for the club.
