Harry Kane came on as a sub in England’s win over Belgium at Wembley on Sunday afternoon as the Three Lions ran out 2-1 winners.

The Tottenham striker had apparently been carrying an injury and it wasn’t clear if he was going to feature for the national team, with Gareth Southgate naming him on the bench for the clash.

He did, though, come on as a sub and that will boost Tottenham hopes that he can be involved in at least some capacity against West Ham United this weekend in the Premier League.

Of course, Spurs will want to assess him themselves after the final international game – one which could see Kane start v Denmark –  and see where his fitness is as, ahead of a manic period of games, rushing him into too much could create further issues.

Indeed, they’d have probably liked to have seen him not used at all on Sunday and on Wednesday but at least the run out should give Spurs hope he will be ready to go against the Irons this weekend, providing all goes well.
