According to the Daily Star, Wolves and West Ham will have to pay £16.5 million if they want to sign Salomon Rondon this summer from West Brom.

The powerful forward has had a decent run of it in the Premier League with him impressing again on loan at Newcastle this season just gone.

The Magpies would like him, too, but they are not alone in the chase to sign him from the Championship side.

West Brom, of course, fell short in the play-offs in the second-tier and are now likely to lose Rondon as he is good enough for the top flight.

West Ham and Wolves could both do with an extra striker, too, so whether or not we see a bidding war initiate remains to be seen.

With the £16.5m price tag his release fee, though, it’s more than likely this is the maximum any club will have to pay.
