According to The Times, James Tarkowski of Burnley is a wanted man this summer and some of the attention is coming from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Old Gold arrived in the Premier League on the crest of a Championship-winning wave and duly continued that form into the top flight last season.

Indeed, they are certainly one side capable of challenging the top six hierarchy in the near future and they have apparently launched an enquiry to try and see whether Tarkowski could be signed.

An England international, he is considered one of the best defenders outside of the top six and would surely boost a Wolves team that already has considerable quality in its ranks.

Leicester City are also keen on the player according to the report and will offer similar ambition to Wolves as both are capable of challenging for Europe next season.

Burnley, meanwhile, will want to show that they are ready for an assault on the top seven once again this year.
